AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Revealed
According to the official release, "A strange encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of banned practices and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine sect.
The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
Past Japanese Animation Collaborations
This signifies scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime franchises. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that obviously echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
